Our Call For Submissions
We're accepting submissions for the fifth issue of our zine, The Lantern! Featuring exclusively LGBTQIA+ creators from the DC Metro area, The Lantern is an exploration and a celebration of the myriad experiences of being LGBTQIA+ while living in and around our nation's capital. In a region torn between Southern history and the epicenter of present day politics, our local culture is a vibrant scene of activism through love.
The Lantern is an annual zine that focuses on teen and adult experiences. While the zine acts as a fundraiser for NoVA Prism Center, it is primarily a showcase of local creators and perspectives.
SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS:
- We are accepting submissions of the following categories:
- Written works
- Visual art
- Music
- Short film
- Works may be created using traditional or digital* media
- Works should represent some aspect of LGBTQ+ life in the DC Metro Area
- We prioritize works that represent some aspect of LGBTQ+ life in Northern Virginia
- We accept multiple submissions per person, although multiple submissions do not guarantee that multiple works will be accepted
